IMG_07465/5/16: With being out for this season and possibly indefinitely I wanted to keep involved with racing this year. Next week Thursday May 12th Ogilvie Raceway is hosting the USMTS Modifieds and and Outlaw B-Mod special. 1N1 Mike Neis Racing is stepping up as a contingency sponsor for the B-Mod feature. The car that is in the 11th position on the 11th lap will receive one hundred and one dollars.

4/17/16: We are officially done with the 2016 season. Friday April 15th we were at Practice at Ogilvie Raceway. During our 6th and final run of the night we had mechanical issues with the car. It hit the wall, climbed the wall and flipped over 1 1/2 times. I was not injured or even sore. The car is totaled out, so at this point we are done for the season. I will post pictures in the future and keep you posted on what the plans are.

4-4-16: For immediate release: Mike Neis Racing would like to welcome Primrose School of The Lakes at Blaine to our team for 2016, we are extremely excited to have them on board.

3-29-16: Car is getting ready, having some drive-train issues which will set us back a couple of weeks. We are hoping to be ready for the regular race night on April 16th. Will have a picture up of this years car as soon as the wrap is on the car. Stay tuned, this is going to be a fun year.

1-26-16: The tentative schedule is up. We are going to focus on getting better ever week this season by concentrating on one track. Ogilvie Raceway, we might venture out a little as well.

1-12-16: For immediate release: We are pleased to welcome back AAE – Air Automation Engineering for the 2016 racing season. This is the second season to be working with John and Wendy Studer and the great staff at Air Automation Engineering.

10:15:15: We are done racing for the year. Our two biggest accomplishments were finishing 6th in a feature and also finishing 10th in points at Granite City Speedway this season. With all the adversity this was a great way to end the season. Below is a video of the not so good part of the year. Last race I had a driver come up in front of me and I got him into the fence. Not one of my better moments.

9-10-15: Tomorrow night will be our final race of the 2015 season. Ogilvie Raceway, first night of the Harvest Cup. It has been an up and down summer. 10 weeks out due to crashes, waiting on parts and welding to be done. I’ve learned a whole lot about the car this summer. Have improved as a driver. Results do not show this but like last Friday when I changed the car for the feature and made it a lot worse I did not hit the wall or spin out. Early in the season both of those would have happened.

I will update on Granite City Points when they update them. I believe I held off the 14 car of Levi Atkinson for 10th place in points, which is a win in my book. In the combined track points I finished in the top 20 which is absolutely awesome for missing so much time.

8-17-15: Our plans for the remainder of the season are to run Granite City Speedway the next 3 Fridays, Friday September 11th will be at Ogilvie. After this date we are probably done for the season. I will regroup and do some soul searching to see how we can race and have fun doing it. When it becomes a chore and is not fun, then it is time to do something different.

8-3-15: Raced at Ogilvie Saturday August 1st. Started 1st in heat and was running a solid 3rd when driver error caused a DNF. Started the feature in 14th and finished there, had to trash a little to get the car ready so I did not have to start and park. Next scheduled race on the schedule is Friday August 14th at Granite City Speedway.

7-27-15: We finished 11th on Friday and 14th Saturday night this last weekend. This week Granite City is not racing so the plan is to go to Ogilvie Raceway on Saturday night. Made major changes to the setup of the car last week and it and the driver were so much better. Some more changes coming this week and hope to keep the improvement moving in the right direction.

7-24-15: All set to go racing this weekend. Friday Granite City Speedway and Saturday at Ogilvie Raceway. The team is disappointed that the inaugural Dirt Track Nationals for August 6-7-8 have been cancelled. We will make other plans, maybe race Granite City that Saturday. Maybe a road trip is in order as well, we will keep you posted.

7-24-15: Mark the date, Friday August 14th.

7-9-15: Will be at Granite City Speedway the Friday night.

7-6-15: We made it out racing Saturday night. Last in heat race, shaking the rust off. Feature we were getting out confidence back up and looking 110% different than heat race when the right front tie rod came lose. Car is in one piece with no damage repair for the week. This Friday the plan is to race at Granite City Speedway.

6-29-15: After many weeks of ordering parts and putting the car back together the plan is to race at Ogilvie Raceway Saturday July 4th.

11-19-14: ESS – Elite Shock Services will again be a part of the Mike Neis Racing family for 2015.

7-3-14: At this time we are not going to be racing in 2014. My shoulder surgery was extremely complicated and went great and I continue to improve on a daily basis. At this time it would not be in my best interest to risk a permanent injury this year. We are in full swing prepairing for the 2015 racing season and hope to make it to a track near you.

6-12-14: I would like to welcome Carter and Amy Gerlach of ESS – Elite Shock Services as a part of the Mike Neis Racing family for the 2014 & 2015 racing season. You can find out more about ESS and the services they offer by clicking the link on the Sponsors Page.

6-12-14: Update on my status. I had surgery May 7th and everything went fine. It was more complicated than the doctor anticipated so they had to cut into my shoulder. With that being said I will be in a sling for 6 weeks which will finish up on June 18th. At that point I will be doing PT and having a follow up Dr. appointment on the 24th. After that I will have a good idea when I can return to work and when I should be good to go for racing. At this point I have been learning patience. It looks as if racing is going to happen it will be the end of July or early August, I’m still very optimistic that it will happen this year.

4-21-14: As of today Mike Neis Racing will not be starting the season until mid July. I have an injured shoulder that I will be having surgery done on May 7th so without any complications we should be ready to go by the middle of the month. Keep checking back often for the latest developing story.

During our limited 8 race schedule in 2013 Mike Neis Racing learned many valuable lessons about setting up and running a race team. This information will help us develop our off season plans to make the car and driver better and be more competitive. I want to thank everyone who came out to support us, either at the track or with encouraging emails, texts and phone calls, we definitely would not be where we are today without all of you.
